My Story
Migarda Martina is the youngest daughter of Dominico Dyonisio (Nicho) Martina and Cristina (Tintina) Martina-Martina (born Martina and married to a Martina). Both her parents have already passed away. She has 4 brothers; one has also sadly passed away and 2 sisters. She was born in 1955. She grew up in Barber and went to the ‘Sint Jozef School’, in Barber. After completing primary school, she went to the ‘Maria Immaculata Lyceum’. She got her diploma and started working for the government. She married her husband, Cesar Paas. They have 3 children, Nèrethy, Aldo and Alton and 3 granddaughters Rosheeny, Ro-ëny and Roshedee.
She has always been a hard worker and a dedicated mother and wife, juggling her time between her career and raising her family. She has lived her entire life as an active citizen of her community. She served in several boards, organized events, and executed vacation trips for youth groups. She followed a Bachelor program to become a Records and Information Management professional. Hereafter she became an advocate for this field. She also became part-time teacher in this field for the central government, not only for Curaçao but for all the islands of the former Netherlands Antilles, except for Aruba. She has worked in this field until her son’s accident, which left him confined to a wheelchair. After the accident she retired from her job, went home, and started a new life. It became clear to her that she was put here on earth to serve and inspire others with her story, especially women.
